For specific help with your claim, benefits or questions regarding denials visit The Texas Department Of insurance. You can find information about appeals,  complaints, ombudsman, and what steps need to be taken. 

Texas Workers' Comp Carriers

We accept nearly all Texas Workers' Comp Carriers and here is a link to their company sites.  Here in box number 11 is where you can see who your carrier is. If you have not been seen by our office then contact your Human Resource Manager or Risk Management and they will know your carrier.

Reasons For Referral

Any treatment beyond standard x-rays often  requires pre-authorization from your workers' comp insurance company. Examples may include:

  • Advanced Imaging (MRI, CT , Ultrasound)
  • Specialized Care (Orthopedics, ENT, Pain Management)
  • Physical Therapy

Common Reasons For Delays

Workers' Compensation is in itself a slow process. We feel your frustration. We do our best to facilitate and expedite the process but often times it is beyond the control of our office. 

Reasons for delay may include: 

  • Expected delay of 3-7 days after referral is submitted for insurance approval
  • Expected delay of 1-3 days after approval received but waiting on scheduling
  • Unexpected delay of failure of referral to be submitted by provider
  • Unexpected delay beyond 1 week waiting for insurance's approval
  • Unexpected delay after approval received but waiting on specialist to schedule appointment
  • Claim has been denied and our office has not been made aware


If you have not heard any information regarding your referral after a full week from your last appointment then please call to check on the status.
